Bay Malayali Club Won 3rd Kerala Cup

The hosts, Bay Malayali Team won the 3rd Kerala Cup in a thrilling battle against Kerala Club California. Bay Malayali Team was the winner in the 1st Kerala Cup (2009) and runners up in the 2nd Kerala Cup (2010) tournaments. After the game, St. Thomas Church Vicar Fr. Kurian Neduvelichalinkal presented the trophy to the winners in the award ceremony. Representatives of MANCA, Kerala Club, FOMA and the tournament sponsor TekVista group of companies were present during the award ceremony.

3rd Kerala Cup Soccer Tournament - Semi Finals (07/16/2011)
In an amazing game, in the first semi final, Kerala Club California defeated last year winner San Jose Soccer Stars and entered the Finals. in the second semi final between Bay Malayali Simhams and Mountain House Kikkers was more thrilling. In this game, Simhams defeated Mountain House and entered Finals. The Final Game will be at 5PM on July 30th.

Summer badminton coaching for children
Bay Malayali Sports & Arts Club is thrilled to announce a Summer Badminton Coaching Program for children
from Sunday (08/24/11) 7pm to 8.30pm at Irvington Community center. One our club member Mr. Sylesh David (USPTA Professional tennis pro Instructor) will be the coach.
Sylesh David is a well known Tennis and Badminton coach based in San Francisco.
He has graciously agreed to come to train our kids in Fremont.

Kid's FREE summer soccer coaching started
As announced earlier, we started children's 2011 free summer soccer coaching workshop on last Saturday (July 16). The kids loved the games. Participants from this workshop will play an exhibition game before the 3rd Kerala Cup Tournament on July 30th. Watch Photos

3rd Kerala Cup Soccer Tournament - Day 1 (06/25/2011)

Bay Malayali Sports and Arts club's 3rd annual tournament was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Stany Edathiparambil (Director of St. Mary's Knanaya Mission of the Bay Area).
In the first exciting match, Bay Area Soccer stars beat the Mountain House Kickers. Both teams played a great game.
The second match was played between Bay Malayali Simhams and Mavericks Kerala. This match was won by Bay Malayali Simhams.

Free summer soccer coaching for children

This year, Bay Malayali Sports & Arts Club will be providing free coaching to our new generation (ages 5 - 12 only) during the summer vacation. The training will start on July 16 Saturday. The training will be for 6-8 weeks; every Saturday 8:30AM - 9:30AM at Irvington High School ground.

Congratulations - India Wins Cricket World cup
MUMBAI, India—Mahendra Singh Dhoni clouted a soaring six to secure India's first World Cup title in 28 years and the first for the great Sachin Tendulkar in six attempts with a six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in Saturday's final.
Dhoni scored an unbeaten 91, sharing a 109-run stand with Gautam Gambhir (97), as India chased down Sri Lanka's 274-6 to win by six wickets.
India became the first team to win batting second in a final since Sri Lanka beat Australia by eight wickets in 1996.

Apr. 01, 2011: Next season of badminton will start on April 3, 2011. The game will be in Irvington community center , Fremont from 7PM - 9PM every Sunday. We have reserved the Irvington indoor court every Sunday 7PM - 9PM (2 hours) for three months from April 3rd, 2011. This time, it will be a monthly payment.

Oct. 24, 2010: The first day of badminton was filled with players. We were forced to upgrade our booking from half court to full court and all the 6 courts were busy for the whole hour. Bay Malayali Club won 2nd prize in "Pookkalamalsaram"
Aug. 21, 2010: Bay Malayali Sports and Arts Club won second price in MANCA Onam "Pookkalamalsaram" today. Our club members along with Paulson Puthur and Talachira Family members did a great job with the design and decoration of the "Pookkalam".
Bay Malayali also performed "Pulikkali" in MANCA's Onam program today. Ashok Mathew, Price Peter, shailesh, Hans Chacko and Sujith Joseph participated in the tiger dance.

Bay Area Soccer Stars won Bay Malayali Tournament
Aug 7: The battle is over. Bay Area Soccer Stars defeated last year winner Bay Malayali Sports & Arts Club and won the TEKVista trophy. The thrilling action ended with a score 4-3 in presence of huge crowd from all over bay area.
Bay Malayali's Joseph Thakkolkaran was awarded as the best goal keeper. Bay Malayali's Jeen George who scored 9 goals in the tournament selected as the best player. J.K. Parameswaran from Kerala Club awarded with "The Rookie of the Year". Awards presented by dignitaries St. Syro Malabar Catholic church vicar Fr. Kurian Neduvelichalinkal, Mar Thoma Church vicar Fr K. A Abraham, St Gregarious Orthodox Church vicar Fr. Joseph Kalapurayil, St Mary’s Jacoite Syrian Orthodox Church vicar Fr Thomas Korah, MANCA's present and past presidents, CVMA secretary, FOMAA representative, Kerala club representative, Knanaya Catholic Congress Secretary and tournament sponsors.
The crowd very much enjoyed the kids' exhibition match between Jr. Pulis and Jr. Simhams. The match ended in a tie with a score 0-0.

Tournament Finals on Aug. 7th
Bay Malayali Simhams team will challenge Bay Area Soccer Stars in our 2nd tournament on August 7th. The program will start at 5:00PM. Please do come with your family and kids. We are planning for enough activities on the final day to make it memorable. This will be a rare chance to watch a match between the best two Malayalee soccer teams in the bay area.

Fremont - July 24: In the 5th day of the tournament, Both Bay Malayali teams won their matches. Bay Malayali Simhams defeated Kerala Club. In the second match, Bay Malayali Puli defeated Central Valley Malayalee Association.

Fremont - July 17: In the 4th day of the tournament, Bay Area Soccer Stars defeated Bay Malayali Puli team with 4-1 score. In the second match, Bay Malayali Simhams defeated Central Valley Malayalee Association.
Day 3: Simhams & Soccer Stars won
In the 3rd day of the tournament, Bay Malayali Simhams defeated Bay Malayali Puli team with 4-1 score. In the second match, Bay Area Soccer Stars defeated Kerala Club California with a 6-0 score..
Club members performed in Las Vegas
Our club members performed the drama Mudiyanaya Puthran in the crowded auditorium of Bally's, Las Vegas on July 1st 9PM. The drama written and directed by John Kodiyan was widely accepted and wet the eyes of the audience as in Bay Area. We have received great reviews about the drama and about our actors/actresses. Our team were back in bay area on 2nd night to attend our soccer tournament kick off. Watch video recording

Soccer Tournament: kick off today
Our tournament is all set to kick off. Inauguration function will start at 4:15pm and game kickoff is at 4:30pm. All club members and their families are encouraged to be in the ground by 4 PM to help us organize and arrange logistics. Our Simhams are playing the first match.
Club members leaving for Las Vegas
Jun 30: Our team members will leave bay area today for Las Vegas to perform our drama " മുടിയനായ പുത്രന് ” in the FOMAA convention.
The performance is on 1st july evening. The team will be back on 2nd evening.

2nd Soccer Tournament

Mudiyanaaya Puthran: A big success

Our club performed a drama Mudiyanaaya Putran, written and directed by John Kodiyan and acted by our club members at MANCA Night day, May 15, 2010. This is a great achievement for our club. We are asked to perform മുടിയനായ പുത്രന് at the FOMAA national convention in Las Vegas. The convention will be held at Bally's, Las Vegas from July 1st .As a Writer,Producer and Actor John proves his talent. We are working out to make it happen and its a very good chance to get our club name all over USA. Everyone, including the worst critics of Manca-Maithry programs in the past, had great opinion about MANCA night drama.

New Court
We have a new court now in the Irvington High School. The is just opposite to the Blacow turf court. There are few courts in which the one we played on May 1, 2010 is the best non-turf court we ever seen. Here are some pictures.
Apr 24 BBQ a big success

It was another great success of our unity. Our soccer players and supporters attended the first 2010 BBQ event with lots of enthusiasm and spirit. Everyone had enough fun and food. Kids enjoyed the jumper and played with Bella (Subhi's dog), men enjoyed the day with some soccer and basketball play. Men, Women and Kids had participated in the Kasera Kali with good spirit. Congratulations for all winners.
Special thanks to everyone that brought food, handled the BBQ grills, conducted games, those covered photos/video and those contributed money towards the expense. We are looking forward to have more events for our club members and families. Picture Gallery 1 Picture Gallery 2
Next cultural program: MANCA Night - May 15
We have an invitation to participate in MANCA night programs which is scheduled to take place on May 15th, 2010. Our team will participate in MANCA night and will perform a Drama/Skit. Those who are interested to participate in the skit, please contact Saju or John. If you can imitate any film actor/actress, please contact John immediately. If you have any good idea that can be staged, please come forward and discuss with the program organizers.
MANCA Couple's Night - March 5, 2010
Our team did well in MANCA couple's night. It was a fun filled night with belly dance, couples dance, chiriyaranhu, skits, songs, wine and DJ. We received lot of positive comments on the program and our members participation. Tojo, Saju & Bindu, John & Shobha, Hans & Joveen, Sujith, Sunil Menon and wife and Jimna (Cisto's wife) participated in couples dance. MANCA secretary Priya Pillai choreographed the couples dance. She also participated in the dances along with our team members and families.. Saju and John participated in Chiriyarangu. John also participated in the skit. Praveen, Cisto and Subhi did a good job with camera and video. And many from our team came forward in the DJ dance.
Our team member Prince and his wife Roshni were selected as best couples of the night. Congratulations to Prince and Roshni. Also, congratulations to Subhash and Sunil for raffle prizes. Next time, we expect more participation in cultural programs.

We moved to new court
We moved to a new court recently. The turf court near the intersection of Blacow and Grimmer is superior for us. We have booked this court for all Saturdays 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM (2 hours) for next few weeks. Thanks for everyone contributed for the expenses to book court. We beat Mountain House 5-4
It was a wonderful game. In fist half it was 2-0 which gave a lot of confidence (rather over confidence) to the bay mallus. The wind stated turning the MH Kickers side early 2nd half with their top notch stamina and pretty soon it was 2-3. Bay mallus got their act together and scored the equalizer before the end of 2nd half triggering overtime. Overtime mallus pull out a decisive victory over the MH Kickers: 5-4. 2009 Summer BBQ - A big success
We had a great BBQ during 2009 summer. We all had a great time on May 2nd. Everybody enjoyed and we saw the bond getting stronger between the players and the families.
